Nothing is a more classic spring activity than gardening! When it’s time to plant, however, you want to make sure you have all the right tools. These gardening accessories will make all the difference when it comes to working with the soil, transplanting, and more.

Before you get going on your garden, it’s a good idea to double-check and make sure you have everything you need. Below are some gardening necessities that will help you with every part of the process, from planting to pruning.

Scuddles 8-Piece Garden Tool Set Fiskars Steel Pruning Shears Grampa's Gardenware Stand-Up Weed Puller Pine Tree Tools Bamboo Working Gloves Abco Tech Garden Kneeler and Seat Wevove Three-Pack of Garden Shears ESOW 3-Piece Garden Tool Set Edward Tools Bulb Planter The Yard Butler Long-Handled Planting Tool

Getting started with a garden has never been simpler than with the Scuddles Garden Tools Set! The eight-piece tool set includes all the basic must-have hand tools for starting a garden, plus protective gloves and a handy organizer to keep everything all in one place. It’s a perfect starter kit, whether you’re a gardening novice or have quite the green thumb.

The tools included are a weeder, a trowel,  a cultivator,  a small rake, and a transplanter tool. There’s also an eight-ounce spray bottle and a pair of sturdy gardening gloves to keep your hands safe while working with plants. Everything you need to dig, loosen dirt, move plants, weed, and more is in this kit, with a roomy tote to store everything together.

You probably remember Fiskars as the brand of scissors you could actually use to cut things in elementary school, but it’s also a top manufacturer of garden shears! The Fiskars Steel Pruning Shears feature sharp, sturdy steel blades to cut through anything, with a low-friction coating to avoid getting gummed up.

The shears use fully hardened, precision-ground steel blades that can withstand heavy use and cut up to 5/8-inch diameter, so you don’t have to worry about the blades getting dulled after just a few uses.

A low-friction coating on the blades also helps them cut more cleanly and glide through branches. They resist rust, dust, and sap, all of which can damage the blades and shorten the lifespan of shears.

Weeding doesn’t have to involve killing your knees and back by yanking up every weed by hand. Grampa’s Gardenware Stand-Up Weed Puller is exactly what it sounds like: A tool that provides a super-easy alternative to getting on the ground to pull weeds.

Just stand up, step on the tool in the ground by the weed, twist, and pull up—the weeds are gone and your back doesn’t ache!

The secret to the tool is its long handle paired with a pronged end. Not only does it provide a more comfortable and efficient way to weed, but the pronged claw that actually grips the weeds and yanks them out is specially designed to get the weeds at their roots, saving you even more work down the line.

Protecting your hands is one of the most important parts of gardening. We love the Pine Tree Tools Bamboo Working Gloves, which protect your hands with durable, breathable material. The difference that sets these apart? They’re made from bamboo fibers, which are breathable and sweat-absorbing as well as sustainable.

The other benefits of these gloves are numerous, but the best part about them is their close fit that still maintains excellent protection. Thanks to their unique fiber blend and design, the gloves have a “bare hand” fit that allows you to keep a firm grip and can even work with touch screens! The close fit doesn’t sacrifice safety, however; the gloves still protect against a number of abrasions.

Gardening can be incredibly relaxing, but it’s less relaxing if your body starts to ache from bending or kneeling for too long. The Abco Tech Garden Kneeler and Seat is an ideal solution: a portable, lightweight, and foldable seat that can function either as a chair-height bench or a cushioned kneeling pad to provide support as you deal with your garden.

A metal frame supports the sturdy, cushioned seat. Flip it with the legs facing downward to create a bench to sit on, or flip it with the legs sticking up to create a kneeler with helpful handrails for getting up and down. It’s a convenient option for making gardening a lot more comfortable, especially for long stretches of time.

All garden shears are not created equal! That’s why it’s important for dedicated gardeners to have different shears for different types of work, like the Wevove 3-Pack Garden Shears.

Each pair is a different size and features different blades for different plants. They make it even easier to care for all of your plants individually.

The shears are three different lengths: 6.6-inch, 7.1-inch, and 7.5-inch. There’s also a straight, serrated, and curved pair. No matter what you’re cutting—from pruning small plants to cutting through branches—one of these should work. You also get a bonus pair of protective gloves!

The three-piece ESOW Garden Tool Set covers the most important ground (no pun intended) for any gardener. The set features three hand tools you’ll probably need, including two types of trowels and one hand rake. It’s the perfect starter set for planting and/or transplanting.

All the tools are made of cast aluminum with no-slip grips. The grips are also ergonomically designed, with soft handles to reduce pressure and discomfort when working in the garden for long periods. You can dig, loosen soil, transplant, and even measure soil depth with this set!

If you’ve ever struggled with getting bulbs right, the Edward Tools Bulb Planter is the perfect aid. The no-bend tool allows for easy planting, even in stubborn soil, to get the perfect bulbs every time. It even has a depth marker for consistent planting and an automatic soil release mechanism.

Made from reinforced steel, this hand tool can dig into any kind of soil with ease. Just use the tool to push down and pull out the dirt, drop the bulb in, then release the soil back where it goes, thanks to an automated mechanism—and you’re done!

For planting without the hassle of bending down or kneeling, the Yard Butler Long Handled Planting Tool works wonders! Like other planting tools, it grips and twists out a specific amount of dirt to dig a perfectly sized hole in your garden, ready for any bulb immediately.

Each hole will be six inches deep and three inches wide, which can accommodate most plants.

If you’re planning to plant several bulbs at once, this tool is also ideal. The long handle and foot digger will save your back and knees! It’s a great way to efficiently plant your favorite bulbs and keep everything uniform, while also making the process easier.

Whether you’re just starting your garden adventures or need some upgrades, you don’t want to head outside without these essential tools. Your plants (and your back and neck) will thank you!
