Fans of 2012’s Lollipop Chainsaw who have been waiting for a follow-up might just have gotten their wish. Per Dragami Games CEO Yoshimi Yasuda’s Twitter, it would appear that the developer has plans for bringing the series back.

While specifics weren’t revealed as to whether we’ll be getting a remaster or a sequel, Yasuda’s post yesterday (accompanied by an image of game protagonist Juliet Starling) tells fans to “look forward” to the series’ return. If you’re wondering how Dragami Games got involved with this, Yasuda used to be CEO of Kadokawa Games, which published Lollipop Chainsaw in Japan. Yasuda is now CEO of Dragami Games, which has taken over part of Kadokawa Games’ assets and staff.

No word on if Lollipop Chainsaw‘s co-director Goichi “Suda51” or James Gunn (who referenced the game in last year’s The Suicide Squad) will be involved in the new project. There’s also the issue of Warner Bros. owning the rights to the game here in North America, but hopefully WB plays nice.

Originally released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Lollipop Chainsaw (which just celebrated its 10th anniversary earlier this week) centers on 18-year-old Juliet, whose town of San Romero has become overrun with a zombie outbreak.

Thanks to Twinfinite for the additional info.

Back in January, we told you about Covenant.dev’s upcoming dark fantasy RTS Gord. The team has dropped a new 16-minute developer gameplay video showcasing some gameplay mechanics for Gord, as well as some of the creature designs inspired by the Slavic folklore that has influenced the game.

Narrated by Stan Just, Game Director of Gord and CEO of Covenant.dev, the video introduces Gord’s “unique gameplay blend of city building, community management and player-driven adventure mechanics while examining the wealth of choice players will have during each playthrough of the game’s campaign, and the fully configurable ‘Custom Scenarios’ mode.”

The video also goes into some of the structures players can build, and how settlements (known in-game as ‘Gords’) can be customised with a range of different buildings, such as a combat training facility to access more well-equipped units, and a temple to increase their magical abilities. Just also discusses Gord’s focus on personal stories, explaining how each citizen’s unique personality, attributes and actions can directly influence player decisions and the long-term social dynamics of their community.

Of course, there’s also the combat. In this case, it involves the player clearing a creature-ridden swamp using an arsenal of brutal melee weapons and powerful incantations with appropriately gruesome results.

Gord is currently in development on Steam.
