The chainsaw market covers the following areas:

The key factor driving the global chainsaw market growth is the increasing deforestation due to the rising demand for commodities.

Increased demand for products such as soybeans, palm oil, and wood products is leading to deforestation. The demand is boosted by the growing population worldwide. Obtaining agricultural commodities such as soybeans and palm oil require the clearing of forests to create arable land. Increased production of these commodities in countries such as Brazil , Colombia , and Indonesia has resulted in deforestation.

Demand for products such as meat and milk has also resulted in an expansion in the grazing land by clearing forest areas. Slash and burn agriculture and the illegal supply of rare varieties of wood such as rosewood, mahogany, and teak have led to an increase in the rate of deforestation.

The demand for chainsaws as a tool for bucking, cutting, and felling trees is expected to increase globally due to an increase in deforestation activities.

The key challenges to the global chainsaw market growth are the risks associated with chainsaws.

The use of chainsaws with one hand can result in kickbacks. The kickback can cause fatal injuries if the rotating saw blade comes in contact with the operator.

The end-users also face challenging circumstances while operating chainsaws, which include heights, slippery workplaces, and falling trees. While professional workers have the training and protective gear for avoiding mishaps, workers who are involved in illegal deforestation activities may lack training or protection, thereby facing an increased risk of accidents.

Toyota Motor shares slipped after it recalled some of its first mass-made all-electric cars, launched two months ago, because of a risk of wheels coming loose, a setback to its ambitions to electrify its model range. Toyota, the world's largest automaker by sales, said on Thursday it would recall 2,700 bZ4X SUVs globally. Subaru Corp, in which Toyota has a nearly 20% stake, also said it was recalling about 2,600 units of the Solterra, a related model.

A U.S. judge on Friday refused to dismiss a $6.4 billion lawsuit accusing Bristol Myers Squibb Co of delaying its Breyanzi cancer drug to avoid payments to shareholders of the former Celgene Corp, which the drugmaker bought for $80.3 billion in 2019. U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman in Manhattan rejected Bristol Myers' claim that it was never properly notified about its alleged default on its merger obligations by UMB Bank NA, the trustee representing the former Celgene shareholders. Bristol Myers and its lawyers did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Shares in the biggest U.S. banks rallied on Friday after they passed the Federal Reserve's annual health check, but Bank of America underperformed with test results implying it needs a larger-than-expected capital buffer, which could limit share buybacks and dividends. While the broader equity market also rallied on Friday, Wells Fargo & Co, up 7.5%, was the biggest gainer among the 34 lenders that underwent the Fed's so-called stress test, which measures how they would fare in a hypothetical severe economic downturn. The group would have roughly twice the capital required under Fed rules in the downturn scenario, it said.

When Russia turns off the gas through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline for maintenance in July, Europe is starting to worry that it won't turn it back on again. This week, Russia cut gas flows to Europe to 40% of the pipeline's capacity, blaming delayed equipment repairs and leaving Germany and other European states racing to find alternative supplies to head off the risk of rationing when winter comes. Now, Europe fears President Vladimir Putin will use a scheduled maintenance programme on the pipeline from July 11 to 21 to turn the screws, putting a brake on efforts to refill inventories in retaliation for far-reaching sanctions over Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.

The German government is considering converting parts of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline into a connection for a liquefied natural gas terminal on the Baltic Sea coast. Russia said it would be a matter for lawyers if Germany took such steps.
