The 30th anniversary of the Dean Patterson Little World Series began over the weekend with 10 games in the single-elimination tournament at East End Youth Baseball League field.

On Saturday, Marana Electric received a home run form Nicky Georgiana and seven strikeouts from winning pitcher Owen Hileman in a 13-3 win over Burgmeier Hauling.

Gavin Mackey and Don Pyo each delivered two hits to help John Sisto Law Office top Sheetz, 12-6. Bentley Mellott of Sheetz had three hits, including two home runs, and drove in five runs.

Braydon Pike earned the win and also had two hits and two RBIs to help Greenwood Meadows top Makdad Supply, 12-2. Dom Picciotti and Braeson McGinnis each had two hits for Meadows, and Vinny Nedimyer homered and drove in two runs for Makdad.

Donovan Hooper homered and drove in two as Shear Techniques downed L.S. Fiore, 7-3. Blake Claar earned the win for Shear.

Lucas Farabaugh struck out nine batters to help Holsinger’s Plumbing & Heating blank Heavy Duty Tires, 5-0. Gavin Treon struck out 13 batters for Heavy Duty.

On Sunday, Dean Patterson blanked Gallitzin Legion, 1-0, as Brennan Long struck out six and drove in two runs. Kruz Keith knocked in three runs, and Brody Brazile drove in two.

Braylon Buck struck out 11 as Lilly B12 edged Park Home, 6-2. Pat Phillips had two hits for Lilly, and Bryson Guye had two for Park Home.

Seth Plummer drove in three runs and earned the win as Kabello Contracting downed Sylvan Veterinary, 10-6. Chance Myers had two hits for Kabello, and Tyler Lightner drove in two runs for Sylvan.

Bellwood Eagles eliminated Sisto Law Office, 6-5, with Sam Moser earning the win, and Killian Worthing delivering two hits.

Furrer Beverage won its opening game in the Altoona Teener Baseball League Senior Babe Ruth playoffs with a 14-6 win over Locker Room at Seitz Field on Saturday.

Furrer then knocked off Beauchamp Plumbing & Heating, 7-1, late Sunday night.

Against Locker Room, Hunter Rossman had three hits and three RBIs for Furrer, Will Tobin had three hits, Baron Dionis had two hits and two RBIs, Nick Kraft had two hits, and Carter Sheehan drove in two runs.

Nevan McGraw and Zach DeLeo each had two hits and two RBIs for Locker Room.

Alex Yost struck out 11 batters and fired a three-hitter in helping Furrer down Beauchamp.

Yost also drove in two runs, and Rossman and Kraft each had two hits.
